These are the top locations to walk your dog if you live in Dubai. Keep reading to find out pet lovers' best kept secrets.
The Greens
Situated just off the Sheikh Zayed Road, The Greens is part of the Emirates Living communities by Emaar Properties. It offers its residents plenty of green and leafy pedestrian walkways that run through the entire community. It also has doggy waste bins installed at various spots throughout and in the evenings, you will find many residents taking their pets for leisurely walks and playtime. If you don't live in The Greens but know someone who does, it makes for a lovely place to visit for a stroll with your furry friend.
Pet Park in The Greens
One of the first leash-free pet parks in Dubai, Pet Park in the Greens offer dog owners a sanctuary where they can let their dogs run free to exercise and socialise. The park also offers various dog related activities including obstacles courses, sandpits, and more to ensure your pet has a great time – the park's open from 7 am to 10 pm daily.
Bark Park
Another outdoor park on my list is Bark Park in Al Awir. It offers 3.5 acres of beautiful landscaped lawns which are safe and fully enclosed for your dogs to enjoy off their leash. It's not exactly a walking-spot, but great for your dogs to just freely run around, get some exercise, and make friends. For prices and membership packages to the Bark Park, check here.
Jumeirah Lake Towers
You aren't allowed to take your pooches into Central Park at JLT, but the walkways around the three lakes are great for dog walking. Dogs are allowed around all JLT clusters as long as they stay on a leash. And with the gorgeous lakeside views and promenades the area offers, it makes for a relaxing location for dogs and owners alike.
Sustainable City
Another welcome addition to dog-friendly spots in the city is the outdoor dog park in Sustainable City which is a 1000 sq. meter facility for pet owners who live nearby, including locations such as Arabian Ranches, Mudon, Rem Raam, Layan, Al Waha, Motor City and Studio City. The park is open from 6 am until 10 pm.
My Second Home
One of Dubai's largest and most well-equipped doggy resorts, My Second Home offers 5,800 sq. meters of pure fun for your furry friend. The play areas are climate controlled and the dog park includes a pool! The best bit is that your dogs are watched by well-trained carers who are also avid dog lovers.
Woof!
This play park is separated into two sections depending on the size and personality type of your dog. There's a dog daycare centre that is well-equipped with toys and trained staff to supervise your dog. Plus they offer complimentary meals for your pet. Woof is only open on certain days and it may be worth checking the timings and fees.
The Desert
And if you're feeling adventurous why not take your pet to the open desert as there's ample open space for your friend to stretch its legs. The desert around Dubai gives your dog the chance to get all the leash free exercise it could need, and it's always nice to escape the city.
